First things first: No, the site is not dead and it's not going anywhere.

The reason there hasn't been an update last fall is, quite simply, that the volume of e-mail this site receives has become unmanageable. I simply can not do the updates anymore the way I used to do them.

So what's going to happen now because it just has to happen is that the website is going to be redone from scratch as a database, and you will be able to add yourself so that things can run a bit more automatically. Until then, I will not be able to add any more members to the list, and I'll more than likely also not be able to respond to any e-mails. Sorry. If you e-mailed me with a request to be added in the time between now and the last update, don't panic and please don't remove the banner because you haven't heard from me yet - you will be added when the new site comes. And it will come. For real this time. And it's also not going to look as fugly as this one.

Yeah, so much for "next week", I know. Sigh.

It's been half a year since the last update, so we've got well over 100 new members and a bunch of new Hate Mail. As usual, a lot of people had to wait so long that they removed the banners again before they were even added to the list. All I can say is I apologize, but just to give you an idea - today's update took me about five hours so far, and I still have over 200 e-mails to reply to.

The bottom line is, this site really needs a serious overhaul, i.e. some form of at least half automatic member addition. This will happen until the end of this year. It has to. And speaking of problems caused by the fact that this thing has gotten bigger than I ever thought it would - the "banner removed" graphics have been removed now as well, and if you haven't replaced your banner yet, you're getting a red X. Please read the 4/27 news entry for details.

And now go and read the Hate Mail already. You know you want to.

Update coming soon!

Yes, I know, it's been forever again, but life has a habit of getting in the way of more important things. The members list will be updated over the course of the next week, so if you're checking back to see if your site has been added, just give it a few more days and don't remove the banner again just yet.

If you're reading this, chances are you're stopping by because your MAR banner isn't displaying properly anymore and you're seeing a message asking you to read this instead.

The reason for this is simple - this site is generating way more traffic than our ISP is willing to handle anymore, and it's because too many people link to the banner files directly by right clicking and copying the file location. This causes our bandwidth to increase, and bandwidth costs money. Please understand this.

Therefore, I've been forced to remove all the banners and replace them with what you're seeing on your websites now. And these graphics will be removed as well in a few weeks.

Of course we still have banners in the download section. You can now click on the text at the top to download a ZIP file containing all of the banners. After you've downloaded the ZIP file, open it and upload the banner you want to use to your own webspace. That's wherever your website is stored. If you're using the banner in a forum signature or on a community website such as Myspace, you can always upload it to a free hosting service like Photobucket and link to it from there.

I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, and I realize that for many of you, it must seem like I'm making you jump through hoops. But please understand that the traffic generated by people leeching these files has become a serious problem, and this step was absolutely necessary.

If you can't figure it out, you can always e-mail me and ask, I will be more than happy to help you out, but of course if you know someone who is internet-savvy enough to help you, ask them first because I'm 100% positive I'm going to get flooded with e-mails over the next weeks.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience, but it can't be helped. Thank you all for your support over all these years - the traffic problem only exists, after all, because there are so many of you out there using the banners and making their voices heard.

Phew, yeah, that's what I get for sitting on my ass and not updating the site for three months again... 68 new members, fuckers. I'll spare you the usual apologies and excuses. A big part of the reason why I got so much e-mail in the past few months is clearly the fact that we were featured in both the online and print versions of Rock Hard magazine, as the amount of German e-mails has been larger than ever. So here's another thanks to these fine folks in Dortmund because they certainly deserve it.

As for me, I hereby resolve yet again to update the site more regularly. New Hate Mail with the next update, I'm sorry, but as Austin Powers would say, I'm spent.

Well, whaddayaknow, another update already.

First off, the long-awaited proper new e-mail address is finally here. You can now contact me for all MAR-related stuff through webmaster@metalheadsagainstracism.org. Thanks to Darkwolf for setting this up.

Also, I've made some minor changes to the FAQ section. The answers about the Swastika were a continued source of pointless debate and have therefore been condensed somewhat, and there's a new one at the bottom.

And finally, there's a bunch of new hate mail and, of course, new members. Most notably Germany's Rock Hard magazine, who have also mentioned MAR in their news section recently. Thanks for the support, guys!

Please welcome the first new members of the year 2005, ahem.

I finally added all the new people that e-mailed me since last December. Sorry for the delay, folks, but since this website is, as you can see, in suck-ass HTML, I have to update it the old-fashioned way. I've been... meaning to do something about that. Also, the long-awaited e-mail address that I've been... meaning to do something about should finally happen soon

If you e-mailed me after December 18th, 2004 requesting to be added and don't see your name on the list, I messed up - please e-mail me again. I swear to @#$ I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

And finally, the Hate Mail section has also been updated, to hilarious effect as usual, and separated into two sections because there was so much old stuff on there that didn't have dates on it.

Well, no real site update today, but I figured it was high time to post something here to let people know MAR hasn't died. I'm still getting e-mails from people who want to join (and idiots who are offended by the existence of this site, of course), so if you e-mailed me since the last update, no, you have not been forgotten.

Also, a little something that should've been mentioned here months ago-
Apparently somebody posted a bunch of messages in the British HC band Panzer Attack's online forum in my name, even with my e-mail address, accusing them of racism based on their use of the German word Panzer (meaning "tank") in their name. Thankfully, the band contacted me directly about this.

I thought about whether or not it would be wise to even mention the incident here, but I think it needs to be said: I do not browse the web to find racist/Nazi websites and leave messages in their guestbooks or anything of the kind. If you see someone doing this and it has my name on it, it's somebody else pretending to be me. Also, the Metalheads Against Racism FAQ explicitly states that running around and pointing fingers is not the right course of action. If you want to do your part, keep your local scenes clean. Being an internet tough guy doesn't accomplish anything.

And here's the update I promised. Lots of new members today, as well as two awesome new banners courtesy of United Forces Productions, and two hilarious new Hate Mails.

There are a few things that haven't made it on the site yet, though... first off, I've lost a bunch of e-mails from people who tried to contact me through the Hotmail address that was listed here for a while. That mailbox got wiped clean, so all those e-mails are gone now. If you've sent your e-mail there, please send it again to eyes_see_red@yahoo.com. This is currently the only e-mail address where I can be reached, the other address that's still listed on the "join" page and elsewhere is NO LONGER ACTIVE. It will be removed as soon as the new permanent address for this site is available, which should be any day now. Sorry for the inconvenience and confusion.

Also, I got a lengthy Hate Mail that isn't on the site yet. If you're reading this, rest assured I'll read the Darwinist pamphlet you've linked and I might even be able to keep my lunch down.

It seems the previously mentioned Dutch DM band who abused our banner on their site has decided to use my news entry from last March as a promotional tool for their new album. You can read all about it at Blabbermouth if you're interested. I won't bother putting any of it on here and I certainly won't comment on it any more as I've already wasted way too much of my time on this non-issue.

In more important news, we've got a massive members update coming up soon as it's been over four months since the last one again, so there's tons of new sites to be added. Keep 'em coming, folks.

Well, you know the drill by now - no update in a while, sorry, lots of new members, new Hate Mail entry. We've got about 50 new members, so I'd like to thank all of them and everyone who keeps writing to praise the site. And of course the idiots on the Hate Mail page for their entertaining contribution and continuously proving us all right, of course.

I know, I know. Same song every time I update the website. I haven't added anything since December, so of course we have a motherlode of new members, as well as a new banner and a new hate mail entry. Sorry for the long delay, but January and February have been pure insanity for me.

Also, I need to clarify something. The Dutch band The Monolith Deathcult is using the MAR banner on their website. Funnily enough, there's no link to us, they've just got the banner on there. The Monolith Deathcult are known racists, I have talked to them on one of the Swiss Metal messageboards and made it abundantly clear what I think of them. I also know at least five people who have talked to them "in real life" and heard them spout their racist shit. Putting the banner on their site is nothing but a hypocritical act of damage control because they're afraid nobody will book them for shows anymore now that most of the European DM scene knows what a bunch of racists they are. I'm sure you'll notice they're conspicuously absent from our members list, and of course they've never contacted me about putting the banner on their site.

And here's the big update. About 30 new members added, two new banners and a new Hate Mail entry. Thanks to all the new members and to Warlord N and Mario for the cool new banners!

Sigh. You don't do an update for five weeks and people think you're dead. Yes people, we're still here, this site is still very much active, and there will be lots of new members added very soon. I've just been busy. Sorry for the delay, and thanks to everyone who wrote in.

Big update on the Hate Mail page today. Lots of funny people keep writing, so go check it out. I hope you have as much of a laugh reading their "thoughts" as I did.

The report about the Mountains of Death Openair is finally online. For obvious reasons, it's in German. Sorry. Check it out here.

Yep, we've got another big member list update. Since this has turned out to be way too much work (hence the consistently delayed responses to everyone's e-mails), you can expect an automatic solution up on the site soon which will enable you to make your entries directly through a cgi form.

The report about the MOD fest is also somewhat delayed, but I am in contact with Reto, and the report will be here sometime over the next few weeks. It's probably for the better that it's being published now and not directly after the incident anyway, as heads seem to have cooled somewhat now.

MAR goes .org...

Yep, I've finally gotten around to registering a .org domain for this site. So from now on, it's http://www.metalheadsagainstracism.org. The old URL is still up and running, so there's no need to update your links if you don't want to, but it would of course be appreciated. Thanks to my buddy Darkwolf for hosting the site under its new domain.

Also, if you're in Switzerland or one of our neighboring countries, you may have heard about the incident involving a small group of Nazi Skinheads at this year's Mountains of Death festival. Needless to say, the incident provoked more than a little debate in the local scene as to what needs to be done to prevent something like it from ever happening again. Some of it, of course, involves MAR. Among other things, you can expect a detailed report about the events right here on the site in the next few weeks.

Another big member list update today. The requests for additions keep on flooding in. Thanks everybody!

Also, if you were at this year's Wacken Open Air, you may have noticed the Metalheads Against Racism banners. Next year will see further collaboration between MAR and the Wacken Open Air. Of course having Europe's biggest Metal festival among our supporters is massively beneficial to our cause - a hearty thanks to Holger and the entire Wacken crew for their support!

IMPORTANT NOTE - There's been some major error with the members list. Apparently a number of entries have disappeared for unknown reasons. If you notice your entry missing, please send an e-mail to esr@eyesseered.com and let the webmaster know! Apologies to those whose entries are gone, this was NOT done on purpose!

All other requests for addition will be responded to later this week. Please be patient, and thanks again to everyone for your continued support.

Well, you probably noticed the site has undergone some serious redesigning. Apart from the added French and Spanish versions, however, the content has remained the same. But some visual reworking was desperately needed because let's face it... the old site was ugly.

In MAR-related news, the webmaster was recently interviewed for a radio show about racist music by the German radio station Bayern 2. Unfortunately, the show is not available for download at their website.
